What you need
You don’t need your own server, just ordinary PHP web hosting. No SSH, no Docker, no command line. You don’t need a separate database either.
The built-in check page tells you whether your hosting is ready before you open the app for the first time.

Unzip it and upload the contents via FTP – or unzip it right in your host’s file manager.

Visit the address in your browser. The database sets itself up and you create your first account.

From 1 December 2026, Snowfox Notes can run on our server for €99 a year, with 10 GB of storage and your own subdomain. You can leave at any time with your export.
